Sailor's Valentine Shadowbox

A "sailor's valentine" shadowbox reproduced from an intricate 19th century shellwork souvenir brought home by a New England sailor. It is handmade using small non-endangered shells collected in the Spice Islands. Framed under glass in a solid mahogany frame, authentic in style and detail, with brass hanger. Antiques Trade Sign

Decorative wooden trade signs were a common sight on shop fronts and taverns throughout the American colonies. The painted image usually depicted goods being sold and they often played on the name of the owner or the location. This sign is hand painted on one side of a solid pine panel. "Jesus The Shepherd" Cross Stitch Sampler
