Queen Anne Side Table
Strong, simple, and handsome, Queen Anne style furniture became extremely popular in the Colonies from about 1720 to 1750. Characterized by flowing gentle curves and lustrous warm finishes. This side table, with "cookie cutter corners" in the top, is made of solid tiger maple, in the hard-to-find variant known as "figured" or "tiger" maple. Click photo for details.

Queen Anne Side Table
Some authorities feel that the Queen Anne style "represents the most satisfactory expression of Colonial craftsmanship." Bulky Pilgrim style furniture gave way to simplified and graceful forms.
