No. 680 LOW POST BED
This refined edition of the simple country low bed is an outstanding example of early 18th century New England craftsmanship. The original was on display for many years in the Hart Room in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The gracefully turned posts are hard maple; the molded headboard is Eastern white pine. Note the holes in the foot rail through which was woven the original rope mattress support. We have, however altered the side rails to accommodate today's standard box spring and mattress. Shown in Medium Stain. Head posts are 33" high. Foot posts are 24 1/2" high.
Available as unfinished kits and "made to order" finished pieces.
