No. 242 SHAKER STEP STOOL
The Shakers used step stools like this one, with its long steadying post, to give access to high drawers and shelves. Several of the two-step stools exist today in museums. but the one step design is quite a rarity. The front leg is dovetailed to the top and braced to the back to give it great rigidity. When not in use it can be hung on a wall peg or it can grace the corner of a room. Solid clear cherry wood. Shown in Oil finish. Width 7 1/2". Depth 13". Height of step 9". Overall height 33".
Available as an unfinished kit, a "painter" kit, a "ready to ship" finished piece, and a "made to order" finished piece.
