No. 250 WINDSOR SETTEE
Windsor double armchairs, or "settees", became extremely popular in American homes after 1800, particularly as companion pieces to side and arm chairs of the same design. They were used in entryways and parlors, on porches and in gardens. The double bow in the crest is securely wedged to the spindles and backposts. Seat is Eastern white pine, so that the settee is light enough to be moved about with ease. Turnings and arms are clear maple. Shown painted black; see below for stains. Height of back 35 1/2". Height of seat 17 1/2". Seat is 44" wide x 16 1/2" deep.
Available as an unfinished kit and a "made to order" finished piece.
