DOUBLE SHADED STUDENT LAMP

Tin student lamps date to the first quarter of the 19th century. The shades were intended to protect the candle flame from drafts. Conical base is filled with sand for stability. Dark antique finish. Aged drip candle sleeves each hold one candelabra bulb, 40 watt maximum each. Convenient cord-mounted switch. Lamp is 15 1/4" high; base diameter is 6". Overall width 11". USA.
