BLUE TRANSFERWARE TEA SERVICE
"Transferware" is the name given to ceramics decorated with motifs transferred from a copper engraving to a special tissue, then onto a pottery base. The process was first developed in the Staffordshire region of England. Our blue transferware tea service is a reproduction of a mid-19th century English design that features a fanciful group of Oriental pagodas surrounded by a floral border. Nine-piece set includes a teapot (9" high), creamer, sugar bowl with lid, two cups with saucers, and a matching tray (16" x 10 1/4"). The glaze is lead-free and food-safe. Imported.
