WHALING OX BONE BOXES

These ox bone boxes are hand etched in whaling motifs in the manner of 19th century sailors' scrimshaw work. Constructed of wood and overlaid with tiles, with solid brass hinges and clasp, and interiors of dark green flocked lining. Ox bone boxes measure 6 1/4" wide x 3 1/4" front to back x 1 5/8" overall height. Imported. Listed left to right.
