BRITISH RED BUTTERMILK PAINT
Buttermilk paints were most widely used in early America after 1800, when commercial pigments were normally not available outside high population centers. Old Village Buttermilk Paints produce a soft flat appearance. They can be thinned with water to achieve a "wash coat" effect. They are perfect for stenciling and can be used on furniture, walls, trim, and floors. They can be recoated with varnish for a more durable finish or to obtain a higher gloss. Ready mixed, water based, and lime free. No powder to mix and strain. For accurate color samples, please send us a self-addressed stamped long envelope.
