The original of this elegant little stand is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York - a rare example of New England craftsmanship from the late 17th or early 18th century. The sophisticated octagonal top, robustly turned base, and sturdy contoured feet combine to make this piece practical for modern entertaining.
